Speech Events
In Speech events, students will compete in a room of speakers from other schools. Each speaker will have a different topic or performance, and each speech event has its own rules.
Competition is divided up into "rounds." For each round, you will speak in a room of new competitors. Typically, there are 2 preliminary rounds in each tournament. The judge will rank each of the speakers that they hear. If you are ranked highly in your rooms, you can compete in elimination rounds like quarterfinals, where you can win awards!
Below, you'll find a short summary and resources for each of the major speech events.
